No, there's nothing you can't ask.

This weekend was pretty solid. Except for Friday morning, when I completely wiped out, in the middle of 5th Avenue, on the crosswalk, in the rain, in front of some of my co-workers. I have some scratches, but really it was just my pride that was bruised while walking in the office soaking wet and 10 minutes late. Things really only went uphill from there. Scored some major pieces through artful bargain shopping. The best being the Calvin heels. I'm going to attempt some daily outfit shots of the new clothes, so maybe I can post those soon. The picture above is from the beautiful dressing room in Mango, which felt more like a club than a fitting room with mirrored walls. Uniqlo button down, UO shorts, random jewelz. Shira wearing the adorable dress from the store who's name I forgot. Sorry.

These were the shoes I almost bought at the collection store. But I opted for the heels instead. Hopefully after my next paycheck, these puppies will still be around in my size.

This was the most amazing event of the whole weekend! After work, I went to the Met to check the Bacon and Model As Muse exhibits, and I saw Chuck Close. Best star struck celebrity sighting encounter of my life. In true New York fashion, no one around me said a word. Check out his gravity defying wheelchair. I really wanted to talk to him, shake his hand or something, but no one else was even acknowledging him, so I didn't either.

And finally, his one goes out to Shira, reblogged from Foster Kamer.

I'm not home, but my shoes are.

I had to calm myself down before attempting to write this post. So I get a discount, from my job, right? At Calvin Klein. Collection. And today... today I got these. I don't like to broadcast prices, but I will say: I got $654.00, 87.20% off, of these incredible, sexy, beautiful shoes.

me: they are mine, and they are gorgeous
Ryan: lol you just need a red headed friend, a couple more skeezers and you are Carrie Bradshaw
me: ahahahahah
but i hope im not a slut like them.
Ryan: lolll i don't think so
carrie isn't into black guys anyway

I die.

Heroine.

I haven't been lazy about posting, I swear. I just didn't have the means to post. On the morning of my second day of work, I awesomely spilled soy milk on my poor, poor Rupert the Powerbook. So I've been dealing with that. Not my finest moment. But after rushing Rupert to the Apple Store the next day, crying my way to into an unscheduled Genius appointment, and $150 later, here we are posting on a happy, healthy Rupe. Big sigh of relief.

Things are really great, work is great. I've decided to not talk too much about my job on this blog, I've heard too many intern-turned-blogger horror stories. Shira is here though! And last Thursday Liz, Katie, Shira and I did the sushi thing, then went to check out Sweetie Pie next door. They have full dinner menu, but please, we went for dessert. The walls and ceiling were mirrored, there was a giant gilded birdcage you could dine in, and huge pink seating. And incredible milkshakes (see Katie above). Too bad we had work the next day, or we would've definitely tried the absinthe cocktails.

I could write more. But Top Chef Masters is on soon. I promise, more posting from now on. And no liquids near my laptop without a sippy cup or something.

Whirlwind.

I'd apologize for not posting sooner, but only 3 of you (really?) read this thing.
Things have been crazy. Got into New York on Wednesday, Mom left Friday, had just enough time to recover before starting work this morning. I've found there's a lot to be said about not having plans. As a serious plan-maker generally, this weekend was an experiment in 'letting it happen'. And it was pretty awesome.

Thursday night Eddie, Angela and I went to see the recently graduated Parsons fashion students' work. So crowded, but a good show. The craft on the menswear really impressed me. Tailoring is hard, yo. Plus I loved Serena and Blair sitting at the end on the runway on the left, so catty.

Saturday I spent some time with this guy. The one with the camera I mean. Pigeon guy was pretty awesome too. He yelled at David, and the pigeons, to leave him alone. Went to see the Avedon fashion exhibit at ICP, and it was everything I hoped it would be.

Then we ran into this police flash mob.

And visited Poland, in the park.

Sunday I had brunch with Lili, which might become a weekly habit. We randomly found the Chelsea market, pretty awesome. We decided we both want to live in Chelsea when we grow up.

Lili told me these little guys are called Hearts In A Cage.

And then we hit the motherload of all tea stores.

A little Myspacin' in the Meatpackin'. Ha. Vintage dress, f21 belt, Banana Republic Bag.
