Craziness.

I am working really hard on an application project for a position at Reebok. I want the job so badly, that I sometimes forget the bigger picture. Sagmeister always knows how to put it back into perspective.

Still here.

5 weeks left of college, and it's crazy. I just started a new internship, as a stylist and photo intern, which is pretty exciting. And as a independent study project, I've decided to continue working on beyla. I don't really have a long term vision for where it'll all go, but I do know that I have to keep drawing, keep building. By the end of the semester I'll have final looks rendered, and hopefully I'll have a full time job by the end of the summer, and some kind of income to fund a second season of beyla.

The last collection felt very springy, so I'm going to try more fall pieces for this round. Also, last time, no strong prints, and after the neutrals I'm ready for some strong colors, and maybe some shiny and sparkly things (within in reason, of course). I'd like to challenge myself with mixing patterns. So we'll see where it goes.

I'll have a more in depth post on the show once I have all the photos of the show. Amazing though. Really. I'll miss all the late night practices, my models... It was so great.

Thank youuuuu. <3

LUNAR GALA!

It's in two days! Do you have your ticket yet??

Ahhhh I am sleep deprived and my fingers and permanently scarred from stabbing myself with sewing needles, but the end is near! If you are my friend or care at all about me, I expect to see you on Saturday! LG has been an awesome experience, I am so excited for the show (but also.... terrified to be on a stage in front of 1100+ people... eeep.).

My mother and best friend get in today from Florida, so the excitement/stress level will only continue to rise. Can't wait to see them! Get your Lunar Gala tickets before they're gone!

wrangler bell

We're snowed in here in Pittsburgh. I could pull clothes off this man all day.

Never heard of Wrangler Bell before, but I sure wont forget now. Instead of just doing a straight lookbook, they're created a website that showcases the clothes, along with amazing interaction. Click and drag this beautiful man all over the screen. Seriously. Check it out here.

skinny vinny

via UO.

A CMU Alum's work is on Urban Outfitters!! So exciting!

Vincent Lai graduated in 2006, so I don't know him too well, but this is just so big, I have to share. Skinny Vinny is Vincent's line of bags that he's been crafting in Brooklyn. What a huge accomplishment this must be, to have his designs picked up by a major brand like UO. Congrats Vincent, you give hope to me and all other CMU ID kids, that our products can make it big. :)

See more of Skinny Vinny here.

lookbook issuu

Victor told me about this website, Issuu, where you can upload files so that they can be viewed as digital magazine or books. I tried it with the beyla lookbook, and since I haven't actually posted the finished product on the blog, here it issss. Let me know if Issuu's viewing gives you any... uh .. issues.

the interim.

Sorry for the radio silence. Busy getting alexandrawoolfson.com up and ready for the
mounting job hunt. Here is some eye candy and my pop song obsession of the moment.
Watch out for that Jeremy Scott Mickey Mouse pith helmet, so awesome.

final beyla renderings! (click for larger view)

Winter break has been really nice. I've been getting a lot of sleep. I wanted to render my beyla sketches, so that I had some nice, finished drawings of the looks for my portfolio.
